What They Were Up Against
TipstersPortal was entering a competitive market dominated by players like Betfair and BetAdvisor. They had no existing audience, no email list, and no brand recognition. The TP team handled Facebook advertising, but they needed a conversion system that could turn cold paid traffic into free signups, and then convert those free users into paying subscribers.
The betting tips industry had severe trust issues — fraudulent tipsters, unverifiable track records, and a general lack of transparency meant the target audience was deeply sceptical of any new platform. Most competitors had done nothing to address these concerns in their marketing.
The System We Built
We started with two weeks of deep audience research — trawling competitor sites, forums, discussion boards, and review sites to understand exactly what bettors wanted and what language they used to describe it. We mapped every pain point, desire, and gap in the current market offerings.
The competitors had done almost nothing to optimise their pages or messaging for tip buyers. Dated landing pages, generic copy, no trust signals. This was our advantage.
We delivered three assets designed to work as a system:
A long-form landing page built around the specific trust issues and pain points we'd identified in our research. The copy was written using the audience's own language — phrases lifted directly from forum posts and reviews.
A 3-minute animated explainer video scripted using the AIDA framework. The video was viewed by over 70% of site visitors, with most continuing to sign up afterwards.
An 8-email nurture sequence designed to convert free users to paid subscribers. Each email led with genuine educational value with a relevant promotional CTA at the end. No hard sells. The approach was to build trust first and let the sale follow naturally.
What We Delivered
Within three months, TipstersPortal generated 9,047 new leads through the landing page at a 27.36% capture rate from paid Facebook traffic. The email sequence converted free subscribers to paying customers at 22.72%.
