Free tools for backlinks

How to create a free tool to generate loads of backlinks (an experiment)

So for the last few months I've been splitting my time between client consulting and building something new in the Web3 space - DeRev.

The new build is, in a way, a G2 for Web3. Impartial reviews of the best Web3 platforms.

We're going up against some big players like G2 themselves and also Investopedia.

One of the things we need to do is increase traffic.

In an episode of Marketing School from Neil Patel and Eric Siu, they talked about how free tools can help generate a lot of backlinks to help you rank.

Here's a video on what we're doing, followed by a short written summary.

I noticed that there are a tonne of low competition, high volume, and highly relevant search terms that could help us generate high intent traffic.

So, we built a free tool to help serve those needs.

The tool is a cryptocurrency converter that targets search terms like ETH to USD.

As you can see below, there's a lot of potential here.

Tens of thousands of searches per month with very little competition.

We built the tool in a way that generates a specific page each time a currency is searched for. As such, those pages should eventually rank for the search terms (if we get enough of those wonderful backlinks).

Will this work?

I don't know.

But it's been a fun experiment and, if it starts to see traction, I want to add a few more elements into the calculator to make it even more useful.

I'd like to add...

  • Current gas fees
  • More fiat currency support
  • Different crypto exchange fees

With that the tool should be pretty useful and help people make better decisions when and from whom they're buying their crypto.

let's see how this pans out and if the list I'm building right now for back link generation helps us shoot up the SERPs.

Any Qs, suggestions, or ideas, feel free to reach out.

How can I help?
